Run the sample check
- Open Check in the top bar and choose Try the sample model under the drop area. The sample model appears under Files.
- Look at the page. The model is listed under Files, marked as the sample model with its IFC schema and size. Under Tests, Model health is ticked and IFC Checker sample checks are picked. A line above Run checker says what the check will do.
- Choose Run checker. Results opens and fills in while the check runs.
- Read the result. The Model Correctness Index is 0.79, with 1,219 of 1,245 elements tested: 979 passed, 240 failed and 26 untested.
- Try the rest of the page: click the failed number to see the failing elements in 3D, open a property set in What fails most, and scroll to Extended data and BCF topics (the Results page).
- To check another test on the sample, go back to Check, pick another test under Tests and run it again. Any test of the list works on the sample, the predefined tests too.
What the sample is
The sample is the Cafeteria, a model of a small cafeteria building. It carries demo values on purpose, so each test shows a pass, a failure and a warning, and none reaches an index of 1.00. The values are visibly demo values, and belong to no real project. The sample is checked like any model you add, every time: its result is never taken from an earlier check.
What IFC Checker sample checks are
IFC Checker sample checks are twelve rules over IFC's standard property sets and attributes, for example the fire rating of walls and the load-bearing and external properties of slabs and beams. They exist to show how a check works. They are not a requirement document of anyone's.
