IFC Checker

Workflows and help

How to use IFC Checker: check an IFC model against IDS requirements, read the Model Correctness Index and the results, export BCF issues, Excel and CSV, and write an IDS.

Workflows

A workflow follows the job from a model to fixed issues: add the model, pick a test, run the check, read the index and the results, export the issues, fix them in your authoring tool and check again. The menu on the left has a topic for each part of it. Pick the topic you need, or follow the flow for your role.

  1. 0.1.1The first numbered release: check IFC models against IDS, read the results, fix and export.
    • Check up to five IFC models at once against an IDS file, or against a predefined test and the stage you choose, or try the sample model.
    • The Model Correctness Index with how many elements were tested, and a result for every element, with only the failing value marked.
    • Model health, the check of the file itself, beside the check against the test.
    • The 3D view of the model, passed elements green, failed red and untested grey, with every number, list and cell showing its elements.
    • The analytical view on three levels, project, model and property set, and the Model and Extended data tables.
    • Marks: mark a value as an issue, or a failure as not an issue, and turn a wrong value into a rule for every similar case.
    • The BCF topics section: every topic with its picture, edited, closed as not an issue and downloaded as BCF.
    • The IDS editor, one table of rules, with live counts on a model and paste from Excel or Google Sheets.
    • More tests in the IDS editor: a kind of test for each rule, one test for many properties or for a whole property set, a start from a list of sets and properties, and a grid of the tests.
    • Downloads as BCF 2.1, an Excel workbook and a CSV file.
    • Saved results and a link that opens them, read only, with the model in 3D.
