# How do I read the Model health report?

The Model health tab of Extended data lists each issue the checks found, with the check that found it, where it is in the file and what it is, in plain words. Warnings come first, and the Geometry row lists the elements that have no shape in 3D. A model with no issue says which checks passed.

## Read the report, step by step

1. [Run a check](https://ifcchecker.com/help/check-a-model/) with **Model health** ticked and scroll to **Extended data**. The **Model health** tab is the first one, with the number of issues beside it.
2. Read the table. It has three columns: **Check** (which check found the issue), **Place** (where it is) and **Issue** (what it is, in a sentence, with what to do).
3. Read a place. For **File integrity** and **Schema conformance** it is a line and a record, such as "Line 20,708 · #20700". Open the file in a text editor and go to that line to find it. For the whole model it says **The model**.
4. Read the excerpt under an issue where there is one. It shows the record as written in the file, "cut at both ends" when the line is long, with every unusual character shown as a code.
5. Look for the **Geometry** row. It says how many elements have no shape in 3D. Choose its button, List them, to list them in **Extended data**.
6. Fix what you find where the model is authored, export it again, add it on **Check** and [check it again](https://ifcchecker.com/help/check-a-model/#check-it-again).

## When there is no issue

The tab says "No issue found." and names the checks that passed. In a check of several models it says so for all of them, or lists each model with its own issues, the model's short name in front.

## A long list

The tab lists a limited number of issues for each check. When a check counted more than it listed, a line says how many are shown and how many were counted but not listed. The downloads list the same issues with their line and record.

## The Model table's cell

In the **Model** table the **Model health** column says Pass, or the number of issues, with the warnings counted. Choose it to see the elements of the issues in the 3D view. A model with no result says "**Model health: no result**".

## Status words

An issue is a Warning, never a Fail, and a check that could not run is **Not applicable**, shown with a –. [All the status words](https://ifcchecker.com/help/status-words/).
